You're not alone - many charities have "additional revenue streams" whereby they sell donor data to other organisations.

They rely on a combination of a potential donor's "guilt through not paying" and "just this once as it's a good cause" winning through.

Nobody bothers to read the small print - especially if something is presented as "Free!!!". Once the data's "out there" it's no longer yours.

Re: autism fundraiser
really i didnt know that , i thought virgin running a fundraising page would've been a good choice as they are a trusted company and they pay all donations direct to your charity, with these girls it is the national autistic society and they dont handle a penny of the donations.so sorry if anybody thinks its a con or if virgin want too much information but they are just trying to do good things for a good cause!!!

Re: autism fundraiser
I was the one who refused to use the Virgin link on account that it required me to sign away unspecified access to my on-line activity to unidentified parties using unspecified "technologies" (Mainstream social media, if you want it smacked full in your face).

I value my privacy greatly and nothing will induce me to give it up due to a sleight of hand requirement on a charity web site - they can go fuck for the money.

It's the same reason I've stopped reading the Independent.

I wouldn't put pennies in your hat, let alone go to the trouble of carrying out any kind of online transaction.

Very worthy cause. Hope you hit your target and more. I usually donate a £100 to my nephews school each time they do a fund raisin event.
Do let your wallets imitate a gopher, every little amount counts.
